REDONDO BEACH, Los Angeles County — A Redondo Beach City Council contract agenda identified a roughly $3.48 million residential-street rehabilitation package covering pavement repairs, neighborhood alleys and traffic-calming elements.
The May 5, 2026 city file named CalMex Engineering as the lowest responsible bidder at $3,477,163.25. The combined project package includes Emerald Street resurfacing between Juanita and Lucia, traffic-calming bulb-outs at two Emerald Street intersections, median island work near Ripley, Huntington and Perkins lanes, and resurfacing on selected alleys.
Construction dates need confirmation
The staff report anticipated a June 2026 start and about 100 working days of construction. That is a planning assumption, not an independently verified completion report. Residents should consult later Public Works updates and current parking or detour notices before drawing conclusions about whether their street is still under construction.
